"Everybody has the right to an effective education"
- Human Rights Act 1998

SENDIASS North Yorkshire provides free, confidential, and impartial advice on SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) policy, process, and law for parents, carers, and young people up to age 25. Their legally trained team operates independently from the local authority, ensuring accessible and informed support.
Every child with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) has a legal right to the support they need—but too many are missing out. IPSEA is the leading charity in SEND law, providing free, independent legal advice to families, expert training on the SEND legal framework, and driving policy change at local and national levels. We’re here to make sure every child gets the education they’re entitled to.

“Until you have a child with additional needs, you have no idea of the depth of your strength, tenacity and resourcefulness”
